90 Day Fiancé: Deavan Reveals Son Taeyang Diagnosed With Leukemia

Former 90 Day Fiancé star Deavan Clegg revealed that her and Jihoon Lee’s 3-year-old son, Taeyang, has blood cancer. Deavan and Jihoon became household names after they were featured in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1. Deavan and Jihoon met on an international dating app, after which he flew to the United States to see her. Deavan became pregnant with Jihoon’s baby during their first date, and she welcomed Taeyang in the first season of The Other Way. The couple separated in season 2, with Deavan coming back to America. She recently announced the news of her and Jihoon’s divorce.

Deavan was a single mom to daughter Drascilla when she welcomed Taeyang into her life. Deavan, who’s currently five months pregnant with her third baby with her new boyfriend, Chris “Topher” Park, had a difficult time during Taeyang’s birth. Jihoon wasn’t able to be by her side and witnessed the delivery via a video call. Deavan had an emergency C-section at 36 weeks, two weeks before the scheduled date. The little one popped two holes in his lungs from screaming too loud. Taeyang wound up staying in the NICU for five days. Deavan was all alone back then and spent her entire hospital stay sleepless in a wheelchair next to her baby’s NICU bed, holding his hand.

Salt Lake City resident Deavan wanted to be transparent with 90 Day Fiancé fans and share the “most vulnerable and saddest point” of her life. She used Instagram to reveal that she’s overcome with so much emotion and devastation while announcing that Taeyang was diagnosed with “childhood cancer, b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia” just a few days ago. Deavan shared photos of Taeyang from his hospital bed. The brave toddler has already undergone multiple procedures and started chemotherapy just two days ago. Deaven referred to what she’s going through as “every parent’s absolute worst nightmare.” According to a GoFundMe page started by Deavan’s mother, Taeyang took several trips to the ER before a specialist told them about him having cancer cells. Deavan and her family are looking to rase $50,000 to cover expenses.

She’s trying hard to stay strong for Taeyang, Drascilla and the baby in her tummy. Deavan explained that Taeyang will be needing around-the-clock hospital care. It’s going to be a long “two year” process. However, she did mention that the process has a high success rate of “full recovery in five years.” She added, “I’m still processing all of this and asking for prayers, please.” 90 Day Fiancé celeb Deavan proceeded to ask for help from fans and asked them if they know of any childhood cancer support groups and resources. “I’m so beside myself right now and my heart is broken,” wrote Deavan as she thanked her friends and supporters for their good vibes and strength. According to TMZ, Deavan tried to contact Jihoon about his son’s diagnosis, but he has her and her family’s numbers, e-mails and social media blocked.

Deavan has full physical and sole custody of Taeyang. Jihoon last spoke to the baby when Taeyang was 13 months old. It doesn’t look like Jihoon has helped his son with any child support. Besides, Jihoon also didn’t reach out to Taeyang on his 3rd birthday in April. While fans are reaching out to Jihoon on social media, he is not responding to them either. Meanwhile, Deavan is getting full support and prayers from 90 Day Fiancé viewers, who’ve watched Taeyang grow right before their eyes as he embarks on his journey to recovery. Fans hope to see Taeyang getting back to full health soon.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
