If you’re not really into it, you can opt out quite easily

  • Choose View membership details if not open. At the bottom of the Your subscription section, select Cancel Membership.
  • Verify your account information and select No thanks, continue canceling.

How to Cancel an Audible Subscription

It’s easy to cancel an Audible subscription, regardless of your reason. You keep all the books you’ve already purchased and can still buy Audible books at full price. You will not be able to return books after cancellation and you will lose any existing credits on your account that you have not used.

You must cancel your account from a desktop browser. Here’s how.

Log in to the Audible website.

To select Hi, [your name]then select Account details.

To select View membership details if you are not redirected directly to this page.

The next page shows your unused credits, which you lose if you cancel. To select Maintain Membership if you decide to keep your account. If you’re still ready to move on, select No thanks, continue canceling to finalize your cancellation.

Undo options on Audible

Once you’ve canceled your subscription, you always have the option of restarting it, although you’re technically starting a new one. However, you won’t be offered a free trial if you’ve already linked one to your account, so you won’t be able to purchase another free book.

How to Pause Audible Subscription

If you’ve accumulated a stock of audiobooks and just need time to catch up, or if you’re starting to accumulate credits and can’t find anything to use them, you can put your subscription on hold instead of canceling it altogether.

To suspend your subscription, you will need to contact customer service directly using the form on Audible. Contact us page.

Pausing your Audible subscription will lock in your monthly charges for up to three months, but you won’t receive any Audible credit during that time.
