Modern Warfare 2 Will Be The Most Advanced CoD, Says Activision

What Activision Blizzard means by “Advancedseems open to interpretation. Presumably, such phrasing refers to technological advancements in terms of next-gen hardware that powers high-end PCs, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Either way, Activision seems confident in the latest adventure concocted by the Infinity Ward team.

Given Call of Duty: Vanguard’s relatively weak sales performance in the market, the franchise could enjoy a big win this holiday season. Unsubstantiated reports have even claimed that Activision may launch the 2022 Call of Duty sooner than usual to make up for the 2021 title’s less-than-stellar sales numbers. At the very least, CoD: Warzone retains his place as king of the hill. The free-to-play military shooter launched about two years ago and managed to amass a total of 100 million users as of April 2021. Season updates, naturally, keep gamers coming back for more on all platforms. So, it’s no wonder Activision Blizzard is planning to double down on producing a proper sequel to the online-only shooter. There is currently no word on when players can expect a CoD: Warzone more to come, however.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 should arrive later this year.
