There are many cool themes you can use for spring, with flowers, insects, growth being the most popular choices. They are perfect for late February, March, April and other spring months.

Let your students help you with the cutest and easiest spring bulletin board. Have them dab their hands on a piece of white construction paper (use the flower as paint).

If they can write their name next to the handprint, it will be even cuter.

Cut out handprints and turn them into flowers! The grass on this one was made from tissue paper (you can actually get one cut into strips at some party supply stores).

Caterpillars are certainly popular when it comes to spring bulletin boards, whether it’s for enjoying nature or Eric Carle’s Hungry Caterpillar.

To make this one, use some of the brown wrapping paper, crumple it up a bit to get the bark texture, and glue it to the poster board to make the branch.

Cut circles from our “chenille” colored construction paper (if you often decorate a bulletin board and cut circles often, I recommend getting a circle cutter.

This is a variation of air drying laundry. Cut the letters (I recommend using the cutting machine for this as it can be quite difficult to cut them otherwise).

You can also print the letters on paper and cut them into shapes for shirts, socks, pants, and other linens. It all depends a bit on how much space you have on your bulletin board.

Spring is in the air

Hang the letters with clothespins on string to create the appearance of a clothesline. I also added two clouds cut from construction paper on each end.

Make paper flowers (you can check out a smaller scale tutorial for making paper strip flowers). Cut the grass out of green construction paper and decorate it with ribbon, if desired.

We made the birds super simple, with oval shapes. Two in the nests and one ready to fly.

A Giant Flower and a Ladybug – Spring in Learning
