The Only Jessica Lange Character Who Survived In American Horror Story

Constance Langdon is a former resident of the house in AHS: Murder House, where she lived with her children and husband and also where she killed her husband and the maid, Moira, after finding them together. Each of Constance’s children had a genetic defect except for Tate, but he was a psychopath. All of her kids eventually died, living her alone even though some of them, like Tate, lived as ghosts in the house. At the end of Murder House, Constance had adopted her grandson, who had psychopathic tendencies like Tate, and who in AHS: Apocalypse was revealed to be the bringer of the End of Days. Constance returned in Apocalypse, where it was revealed she committed suicide inside the house so she could continue living as a ghost, but at the end of this season, Michael Langdon’s death reset the timeline and Constance never killed herself, thus making her the only Jesica Lange character in AHS to have survived.

As for the rest of her characters, Asylum’s Sister Jude was rescued from Briarcliff by Kit, who looked after her until her death; Coven’s Fiona died of cancer and became trapped in her personal hell thanks to Papa Legba; and Freak Show’s Elsa Mars was killed by Edward Mordrake during a Halloween performance. Jessica Lange has played some of the most memorable characters in American Horror Story, and it’s interesting that one of the most complex ones is the only one who has survived, though she did die once.
